Gordon Rustvold began his career at the age of 10 starting with guitar lessons. By junior high school years, he switched to playing the bass guitar due to the need for a bass player in a local rock group. Throughout his high school years, he played in various performing rock bands. He attended Orange Coast College where he discovered the music department after two years studying for a computer science degree. He began taking music theory courses while performing with both rock and jazz ensembles. He also enjoyed the opportunities to play with many amazing instructors and musicians in rock and jazz ensembles at many of Los Angeles area colleges. During this time, he continued to work with a variety of performing and recording artists.
In recent years, he has focused on modern recording techniques that lead to being involved as a music educator teaching Current Music Technology and Recording Techniques classes at Hope International University.
In 2012 he became a business partner and engineer at Ahhsumlaw Studios with longtime friend and world-renowned drummer, Rick Lawson. Currently, Gordon has joined with OC Music and Dance as a member of our recording studio band and will be offering private lessons in bass guitar.
